If you liked that guitar and it had a special meaning I'd try and recover it, if that's not possible find one close to it in features and age. I did a similar thing with a '76 TBS LP Std that I butchered because I didn't know any better and eventually got rid of cheap. Years later it bugged me and I found a '74 TBS LP Std I could afford. I feel a connection to this guitar even tho it's not the same guitar I violated and disposed of years ago.
