Serious aside; I don't feel like starting a maudlin thread, but I do feel like I'm among friends here and you guys should consider this:

Yesterday my 88-year-old father suffered a stroke that is likely, in his attending physician's words, "his end". He's in a coma (though not the deepest, movie-and-soap-opera-portrayed kind), and cannot do much more than breathe.

Us kids get "the call", because as much as he preached about living wills and the like, he never signed one, even when it was handed to him, with a pen, on a silver platter.

Don't be "that guy" who makes your loved ones make impossible decisions they're not prepared to make. Make your own GD decisions, and put them in writing.

Been there, and that was 12 years ago.... still haven't shaken it.
