Re: Unknown Model - Anyone help?

Thought this was interesting for us LP100 guys. I plucked this from a book called Engineerin the Guitar: Theory and Practice by Richard Mark French.

"The method of connecting the neck to the body can affect sustain (the rate at which volume decreases). Conventional wisdom holds that the neck through body gives the longest sustain and the bolt-on neck gives the shortest. However, experiments by R.M. Mottola [56] suggest that a bolt-on neck offers the longest sustain of the three attachment methods. These results are interesting, but should be corroborated before being accepted as being generally applicable."

The Mottola reference #56 is an article in American Lutherie, volume 91 published in 2008 titled "Sustain and Electric Guitar Neck Type"

Interesting at least.
