Picked mine up yesterday at the local GC. Haven't been in a store in ages. Bought my other two guitars online. Walked around and didn't see much of any higher-end Gibson's. The place was pretty busy with people looking and playing in the isles. Wandered over to the Platinum room and found what I was looking for. Actually, I didn't see it at first because they're labeling them Standard Premium Plus. Had to ask the sales guy who came into the room a while later. It was funny how no one was in the Platinum room but me. I was able to check out the Trad Plus as well as the '08 Standard. Like others have said, the '12 falls between the two. I didn't realize the '08's were so light though.
They had a Trans Amber which was really nice but I had my heart set on a HCSB. I asked the sales guy and he said they had one other in the back but he would have to check what color it was. He came back with a case and opened it up. (unboxed it and brought it over) HCSB!
It looked really nice. I love how the flames pop. I also noticed that the upper flames fade in and out depending on the angle. Looks cool. Haggled a little and made the deal. Got it home and played it for a few hours. No issues what so ever. It looks and plays great.
In the case was the pick guard and an allen wrench. Also, included was a set of strings, pick, keychain and sticker.
