Thanx gents, the seller put in the $ to get'r up and running before setting it up for sale and couldn't accept my $200 lowball offer, but at 3 to get it 4,000 miles to me means I'm pretty stoked. It probably came from my old S/E LA stomping grounds at some point and reflects aspects of my So. Cal childhood, so I'm hoping it's more than just a pretty face and sounds good, but that plug has got to go. Plus, the seller is a cool dude, and like me plays guitar and steel, so along with more cool buys in the future I made a new friend in the deal to boot.
Not that I want to mess with it, but in case it needs it, what would be a suitable/proper speaker upgrade? I'd normally go with an old ROLA, but looks like I could squeeze in a 10" with a new board.
Check out the seller's scorching tone in the Cat Man video he has on his facebook page, using a '34 Rickenbacher frypan steel

BTW, those Ricky frypans were the very first electric guitars marketed to the public, way back, starting in 1932.
