I've finally come to the conclusion that it's about time to restore/refinish my early-'90s Alvarez Dana II. This guitar was given to me by an old neighbor of mine, about 5 years ago, and has been sitting in a million pieces awaiting a full-resto for the past 3-4.
The previous owner (who gave it to my neighbor as a partial-payment for a construction job) totally destroyed the original white finish with a black Sharpie, so I'm going to have to go all "mid-evil" on it.
It's a "shredder" guitar (think, Ibanez w/licenced Floyed-Rose and Locking-nut), so I'm still debating whether or not I should/want to keep it or let it go?
This isn't mine, but this it what it
should look like:
I'm actually thinking about doing a blue-pearl finish with chrome parts, and some new pickups/electronics (the originals are active), because this thing was definitely not well taken care of.
I will get some pics up of the guitar...well, the pieces anyway, as it sits now, as soon as I get some free-time. And, will continue to update this thread (with pics, of course), as the "build" progresses, which may take a LONG time due to my work schedule, so bear with me.
Wish me luck! It's going to be a long, and bumpy ride!
