re: Phaez Amps [merged]
The JTM with the adjustable boost will get to 2204/JCM800 territory, but will also do the more vintage, lower gain, JTM thing.
The Asheville has a TON of gain...a TON. It has zero clean headroom, as it was based on the overdrive channel of the SLO. I wanted it to be the OD channel of a 2 amp rig, so having a clean tone was not part of the plan. BUT, for the amount of gain it has, it will clean up rather well, but will never be totally clean...It is also very touch sensitive. Like you can play with the gain on like 4, and the master at 6 (which is LOUD!!) and just by a light pick attack you can get a pretty clean tone (but not totally) and then when you dig in, it's total high gain.
The JTM/Jericho is WAY more versatile...the two amps together, is a killer rig.
