About twice as long as carving a top. Seems like a "simple answer", but in
reality you're carving the underside in the same manner as you do a normal
top, just backwards. It's not as long nor as hard as it may seem. You do
need to proceed with just a smidgeon more caution, however, as you don't want
to get so thin that you sand through.
