Re: Pickups -- what's stock on an Epi?

If you look for good, fat, round tone and are willing to invest, the Gibson Classics are a good choice.
You might also go for the Gibson Burstbuckers, which are just WAY COOL in vintage sounds (three different versions - concerning output).

The "Slash pickup", which is the Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pro is also a wonderful pickup for what you intend.

I lately played an Epi at a friend's, that was just recently converted by installing the new DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAFs. Weeeeehaw, now THAT was a pleasure, too !!!
