I think there are only two scenarios when ageing is ok:
1 - you want a collectors piece that looks the same as an instrument by a prominent guitar player
2 - The instrument is aged naturally through use.
I think if you age a guitar or buy an aged guitar to think "My guitar looks like shit, I must be awesome" you're cheating yourself (in Australian parlance, you are a wanker)
As for this particular item, it looks like someone took to the top with a grinder and then scratched the back with a set of keys and as such the front "arm wear" looks completely unnatural and out of place.
I'll take it for $50
