These are some of the questions you'll be asked when looking for a pedal. Eventually you'll get the answer "go try some out and get the one you like". I was looking for a pedal recently and looked on YouTube for reviews. I decided on the Metal Muff. haven't gotten it yet, but it seems to be pretty versatile. Check out gearmandude on YouTube. He has some great reviews. Just search YouTube for some pedals you have in mind and see how they sound.

Good luck
Thanks, I'll check some out on Youtube. The problem is that the stores nearby don't really have a lot of pedals so I can't try them out. I have to order it online.

The tone I'm looking for is a mild overdrive. Close to Paul Kossoff's tone. Would a Big Muff suit that?
