What kind of tone are you going for? How much distortion? What kind of music are you playing?

These are some of the questions you'll be asked when looking for a pedal. Eventually you'll get the answer "go try some out and get the one you like". I was looking for a pedal recently and looked on YouTube for reviews. I decided on the Metal Muff. haven't gotten it yet, but it seems to be pretty versatile. Check out gearmandude on YouTube. He has some great reviews. Just search YouTube for some pedals you have in mind and see how they sound.
