Hey if you think the method in which PAF's were wound does not matter then I'm totally cool with that. It is about getting the tone you want. But I know that many have a very hard time finding pickups that play as well as their favorite PAF. I think machine winding is one of the key ingredients to getting that tone. But some makers don't.
