I find myself gravitating around the V IV I...partly because any order you throw those three together works and you can easly move through different keys and/or styles by adding a b7th...so it is great to have a bluesy sounding progression change into a maj sounding one or vice verse....
hey the relationship between those chords is what Rimsky-Korsakov based his whole understanding of music on (in a genral sense), explained in his book Principles of Orchestration
