I use dunlops on my SG and Schallers on my LPs and Explorer.
I had my Schallers on my old LP Goddess and they actually slipped out of place (was using a Buckethead stretch strap and doing some wicked moves in band practice) and the guitar almost fell. Good thing I have quick hands! But thats why I bought the dunlops.
I havent had a problem since though, so I mostly use schallers.
