I know many ppl prefer the 57's for real vintage tone. I thought the P'up question over and over (50's tribute, 490R/498T which are far too modern for my liking, okay, the 490R isn't that bad, but the 498T is a no go for me) and ended with Bare Knuckle.
I've ordered a pair of matched Bare Knuckle Stormy Mondays, unpotted (still waiting for them)...I'm looking for a sophisticated bluesy, transparent but warm sound and the Gary Moore SGTB signature sound when it comes to gain. I'm sure I've made the right decision.
