Truly GREAT! Possibly the most unrated guitarist of all time.Slaughter on 10th Avenue is just one of those "perfect records".I wasn't too crazy about "Play Don't Worry".However the reissue has some great bonus tracks!
I worshiped him when I was a kid.One of the best shows I ever saw was Mick Ronson & Ian Hunter at the Roxy in L.A. Steve Jones opened.Axle & Slash sat in for White Light /White Heat and few others.Slash was just embarrassingly BAD.Long story, but he couldn't play WL/WH to save his life! Mick was in his face trying his best show him ....ALL THREE CHORDS!!! I've rarely seen such terrible playing.I'm so glad he's cleaned up his act since.Anyway,I was only 15 ,but got in with my brother's ID.So having MICK RONSON playing some screaming slide in your face using a bic lighter, was pretty F'n cool.
When we lost Mick we really did loose something special. To bad more never caught on.But from what I understand ,he was always pretty happy with that.
Sorry 'bout the rant. Thanks for bring me back to that though. Haven't though of that for a while!
