African or Honduras?

I was always wondering if someone can distinguish the audible differences between Les Pauls made out of african mahogany and honduras mahogany in general. I know it’s theoretically impossible that even two identically built guitars sound the same, but I think we can make some observations in general.
I’ve tried to compare some examples from both MIJ and Gibsons, and my observation is that LP’s made of african mahogany generally sounded warmer and softer, while honduras tended to be sharper and somewhat deeper on the low-end. It seemed to have a bigger bass response, but lacked the creaminess of the african mahogany.
It would be good to hear some more first-hand experiences on the matter.

I decided to start the topic after I found these comparisons on Youtube, which nicely reveal some of the differences, and correspond with my experiences too:

MIJ Epi vs '92 Standard

Tokai LS-200 vs VOS R7
