Your MESA Engineering Recto’s were awesome, but after a few years of
2 to 3 shows per week, and rough handling, not counting falling off the
back of the equipment truck, they were road worn. The Splawn sounded
great in the studio, but couldn’t cut it for gigs. You have to be able to overcome
bad house sound, and sound guys that know only one setting, and / or mix.
That’s where the Recto’s had it all over the Splawn. The Splawn just didn’t
have the punch.
