Never understood why the 50w has the Standy and the 30w doesn't.

Nope they still havent done Standby for that , Because the 50 has more circuts that can be damanged if you fail to use it
Alot of low wattage, 30 and under watt amps have no standby . Marshall I think are the only ones who put standby switchs in any and every tibe amp they make
