IMO the pre-75 Customs with the mahogany neck and trans tenon are the most desirable, others may have different opinions. I agree the market is confusing on them, but I have seen '74s listed as high as $7K. Course, we know listing doesn't mean selling price, but that is where the market appears to be heading.

And when it comes to collectibles, mint always commands a higher price.
I also have a 1975 model with a mahogany neck, fretless wonder frets, patent bridge & waffleback tuners. It was one of the last with those parts as they transitioned many parts that year. It does have the transitioned patent stamped pickups and reflector cap knobs. Also a one owner guitar (before me) and really nice with all the papers. All original. I would sell it if anyone was interested. Cherry sunburst.
