For the variety you need, I'd go with the HT40. I had one and it was impressive. I replaced the stock speaker with a 65W Celestion G12-65 Greenback, but that's because I wanted a more accurate 70's Marshall sound out of it, and it delivered just that.

The HT60 won't be any noticeably louder, but it is a 2x12", so it'll most likely sound better.

These days I play a Marshall Vintage Modern combo. Try one of these as well, see if it's want you're looking for. I sold my HT40 for it.
