Maybe late 70s LPCs with maple necks & stamped patent pickups & wider frets are readily available. But early 70s LPCs with fretless wonder frets, decal patent pickups, minty waffleback tuners, and mahognay necks - that have not been abused or Groverized or otherwise modified - are not easy to find on ebay. And these are near mint. Both are collectors pieces, not players. They only shipped 106 of the 1972 t-bursts, and it was the first year for that color. How many 1972 t-burst LPCs have you seen on ebay? Near mint? And the 74 model, while they made many, many more of them in that color in 1974, is almost like new. It was kept under the bed in the case its entire lifetime by the original owner before I bought it a few months ago. It will be hard to find one nicer.

The blue book of guitars puts an excellent condition LPC between 1970-75 at $4K. But it says nothing about collector pieces or minty ones. There is a huge price difference.
