i worked at UPS for a year after getting out of high school. we always said UPS was pronounced "OOPS". for real any packages marked fragile might as well have a bullseye on them. if it said glass it means if you drop it you'll get a cool baby rattle sound. if the conveyor belts got overloaded at the end they would smack the packages off onto the floor and since the belts and catwalks are elevated the packages would drop about 5 feet which may as well be a cliff to an improperly packaged guitar falling on the headstock. i refuse to send packages UPS till this day and that was 14 years ago.

on a lighter note lost packages are LOST and eventually turn up (sometimes one dislexic employee may send the package to the wrong transfer hub and usually the packages that end up like this get pushed aside until they can be sorted and the barcodes scanned). packages getting stolen are rare because unless the sender is a jeweler guys arent going to want to take the chance of thiefing a package that may contain shit, not to mention that the over the road drivers have no access to the contents of the trailers, they are sealed and checked upon arrival.
