My on the road gear for recording is a Boss BR1200, Les Pauls through a Digitech RP250, so I can record in hotel rooms and not piss anyone off.

I am rebuilding my studio at home, with a Mac using ProTools, Apogee interface, and the assorted Shure mics, rack gear and such that I have collected over the last 30 years.

Tracking your guitar with different guitars and effects and panning to different spots in the mix will thicken it up.
