Re: While Gibson moves to the future the Fans are stuck in the past
I think that Gibson is right to put new ideas out there, they should be as innovative as they can. However, Gibson are responsible for some of the most "traditional" guitars in modern music, and have collected a following of very traditionalist fans, and that's the problem; they need to keep their innovative new instruments separate from their more traditional ones. Yes build new Guitars with loads of new sonic potential, but don't sell them as Les Pauls, SGs ect. I think that's the main problem with the new Standard model being accepted; I think it's right to make these new innovations, but instead of changing things the customers are already happy with, save them for new stuff.
In short, I'm a fan of the DarkFire, Dusk Tiger ect, I don't think they're Les Pauls though.
