Hmmm, it looks to me like Gibson is kinda' doing a bunch of ALMOST "artist signature models" with this latest round of GOTWs. The look of some of these guitars certainly is SIMILAR to some famous artist models (but these are by no means EXACT replicas). Still, probably a lot better price point for somebody that can't afford the real signature model.

Let's see, so far we've got...

Week 42 - Ace Frehley's Les Paul Custom
(probably the most obvious artist-related one, except the Joan Jett of course)

Week 44 - Peter Green/Gary Moore's "Greeny" Les Paul
(OK, so you'd need to change the pickups)

Week 47 - James Hetfield's Explorer

Week 45 - Joan Jett's Melody Maker

Week 43 - Allen Collin's Explorer

Week 46 - Peter Frampton's Les Paul Custom
(but with pup covers, etc. - OK, this may be a stretch )
