The only ones I could see paying a kings ransom for would be like Pearly Gates, or Jimmy's #1 something like that in it's historical context would be worth it.
If people would play them for what they are, good guitars made when craftsmanship was king it would be a whole different animal.
But look on the bright side, the VOS and other Historics will one day be old guitars as well, so in the future it will be possible to own a "vintage" Les Paul made to the 50's specs.
Refin- you got lucky that's nice guitar, what is that thing with the speakers in picture, old stereo record player?

YES !! I do agree Bursts are way out of control in the $$$$$$$ dept !!! And way out of reach from the average guitar player !! But it's always nice to dream right ??? If I ever go the vintage route , I'd probably get a 52 and do a conversion on it to get bang for the buck !!!!!
