FWIW I've never had any luck boosting solos with a Tubescreamer in front of my amp. As was said earlier, it just creates more overdrive, not volume. And overdrive in the loop usually sounds bad, period.

Are you saying that the T.S. and the E.Q. are all in the same pedal? If so, then I'd say that's your problem. I use a Boss GE-7 eq in my loop to boost solos with PERFECT results. I don't even boost the volume much. I slightly cue up a couple of the middle frequencies and raise the volume slightly and BAM! My solos pop out to the front and everyone hears me loud and clear.

Honestly, I can't think of a more efficient and accurate way to boost solos. There are others but this is the one that I hang my hat on because it's so easy to control and sounds great.
