Yes, I've heard of the white 'preacher' guitar. There is a guitar shop here in Toronto that has a '69 deluxe in a tobbacco burst that is supposed to be original. It looks like a typical Norlin era burst with a hard transition. The dealer is questionable, however.

The guitar which is the subject of this thread doesn't look like it has a Gibson style burst (for the period) or in Gibson colors. Actually, they did start shooting the desert burst models in that style in the '90's but never back then.
