What would you choose ? Tone or versatility ?

Here's the situation. I have a 100w Jubilee half stack and an 18w Phaez half stack. All of my higher gain gigging/jamming needs are covered. I am debating about another amp to fill a void. Ever since getting my R8 my lust for woody, natural, organic tone has gone up exponentially. I want something a bit cleaner, smoother, creamier for home use and occasional jamming.

I am torn between a used versatile 20w or more combo or an absolutely fantastic 5w classic rock/blues tone monster (swart STR tweed). Both would cost relatively the same. The 5w would need to be mic'd to play out of course. Keep in mind that 99% percent of the time it would not be used in a jam setting.

I guess my real dilemma is I am having a hard time justifying what they want for the 5 watter being an amp that is not loud enough to hold its own in a band without being mic'd. But the tone is just one of those tones you hear and go "that's it, right there". What do I do ?
