I could be wrong on the tuners. I know the ones on my Epi and LPGT weren't that good. The best way to tell is when the strings are off, see how much slop is in the shaft that holds the string. If it has play in it, I would make a change.

However graphite in the nut is always a must. Remember, #2 pencil.
