Two months ago I bought a used Gibson SG Standard from another forum member here. It being my first Gibson, it holds some sentimental value, as well as being my first U.S.A. made guitar. I love it - best playing and sounding guitar I've ever owned.

That being said, I don't really NEED a Gibson right now. I sold two low-to-mid level guitars ($400-500 range) to get it. I'm not playing in a band right now and do not see myself in one for another year at least, so my interests are shifting more towards recording and home use. It is a very nice guitar, but not something I can justify owning at my current income and position.

If I were to sell my SG, I would get something less expensive, probably a higher end Schecter or similar import guitar. The local shop has several Schecters, and those things are very nice for the regular price. I know several places where I can consistently find $800-900 imports for $400-500, so that would probably be the route I would take. Also, I could really use some extra cash for school and other pursuits, because my pizza job isn't covering all the expenses.

So, am I crazy for wanting to sell my SG?? I just got it, but it seems like it's a little too much at the moment. Extra cash would really come in handy right now as well. What do you think?
