Here is my take on Gibson the company, some assert that Gibson makes good stuff and people know it........ well when you are viewed as the "Holy Grail" you can sell anything to anyone and they will suck it up without question.

Actually most people only "know" what they've heard from others, fact is Gibson rests on the laurels of the past and is milking a cash cow named Nostalgia and really hammering collectors (some of whom have more money than sense), while in reality the current company has done nothing to deserve the rabid following, lying by ommission of certain critical details is still dishonest, if you change any thing (formula of the Nitro, lie about Bees) it is not a vintage reissue it is simply another copy of the real thing.

The fact that they can get close to vintage specs now means they intentionally sold a fraud to the public in the 70's and 80's just calling it a Les Paul and people bought them because the guitar heros of the day were playing real Bursts that sort of looked like what was available.
