Hi guys, im a newbie here so go easy on me!

just bought myself a brand new R8. I've been searching for a les paul for ages now and i finally decided that the R8's were the ones for me, went to a shop over the weekend and got to try 5 of them and picked out the best one. I was pretty lucky for a UK shop to have that many Historic Les pauls in! This thing is a beauty! looks great, feelsl ike ive been playing it all my life and sounds fantastic!

I'll post some pictures up as soon as i have the time to take ones that do it justice!

so im wondering if you can help me with a couple of things. Firstly, ive already got a number of pick sratches around near the tggle switch i'd imagine from switching pickups with the pick in my hand. what is the best way to treat these on the VOS finishes?

Secondly, its a tobacco burst finish, i really like it because the outer (darker part is less black and more of a deep red. Im thinking it would look even better if the outer part was faded more so there was less of a contrast between the middle and the edge, is there anyway of acheiving this?
