I went VOS on my Historics with the R9 and R4, because I got a decent deal used on each and I feel a bit better with some wear. I had a beautiful NEW foutieth anniversary BB that I hated to play because every time I did, I'd nick it, give it a slight pick scratch, etc. The VOS took that fear5 from me, and delivered a guitar I can feel OK about scratching

What I really meant about forced retro would be taking out a beautiful burst and laying it in the sun for days on end to get it olde faded looking.
VOS I can understand, but killing a nice color loses me. Each to their own though.

Then their's Relicing which is the forced retro thing taken to the highest degree.
