I've worked on amps a fair amount, but its almost always modding, repairing or rebuilding an existing amp rather than from the ground up. I've started one using a "kit" of sorts recently - I have a prebuilt chassis and headbox, and then have had to assemble the various other parts. Its slow going for me because I'm not terribly organized with my hobbies.
