I have been considering building an 18 watt clone but recently opted to let Nik at Ceriatone build it instead. It really is not that hard to do but I just dont have the time to do it myself. I went with the 36 watt EF86. This is basically an 18 watter with 2 additional EL84 power tubes and an added EF86 in the second channel to sound VOX like. So on channel one there is the classic Marshall tone with 4 EL84 and 3 12AX7 and a tube rect. On Channel 2 there is the same with the addition of the EF86 for a VOX tone. I think it is the most veratile option. I had them add an effects loop and you can switch off 2 of the EL84 tubes to power down to 18watts. I cant wait for it to arrive.
