NAMM 2017 Les Paul Historic Line Changes

New changes are happening at Gibson Custom shop for 2017. Here’s what’s new and what’s changing for the Gibson Les Paul Historic line:

– Standard Historic and True Historics are morphing into one single series called (you gussed it) Historic Reissue
– Historic accurate serial numbers (no more “R”) on back of headstocks
– New nitro laquer that Gibson says is the thinnest ever
– All fretboard bindings are now rolled to give you that worn-in, comfortable feel around the edges of neck
– “Flatter” dish carve for the maple tops
– All hide-glue construction
– Prices will be under $5,000 for the R7 and R8 and in the $6,000 range for the R9 Gibson Les Pauls
