CITES To Regulate All Species of Rosewood

Starting on January 2, 2017 the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, or CITES for short, will start regulating any kind of rosewood being imported and exported. What this means is that if you’re thinking of selling a Les Paul outside the U.S., you’d need to apply for and include the guitar with a CITES re-export certificate through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
